About Tsinghua SIGS
Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS) was launched in March 2019. As Tsinghua University’s sole campus located outside of Beijing, Tsinghua SIGS is a further expansion and integration of Tsinghua Graduate School at Shenzhen (GSST) and Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute (TBSI).
Our mission is to reshape graduate education as well as research and development to better serve local, national, regional, and global sustainable development. Tsinghua SIGS will nurture the next generations of global leaders, tackle global challenges through international collaborations, and facilitate interdisciplinary research and industrial partnerships.
About TBSI (Data Science and Information Technology)
Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute(TBSI) is jointly established by Tsinghua University and University of California, Berkeley under the support of Shenzhen Municipal Government. It is committed to exploring the cultivation mode in 'university-government-enterprise' tripartite cooperation with the concept of 'interdisciplinary', 'internationalization' and 'industrial partnership'. With the integration of university, government and industry resources, training global technology leaders and future entrepreneurs, TBSI aims to provide high-quality talents to solve regional and global major issues of engineering and scientific research.
Data Science and Information Technology is one of the prioritized “6+1” disciplines at Tsinghua SIGS. Relying on the cutting-edge recruitment system of TBSI, the Committee of Appointment and Promtion consisting of senior international scientists in electronics, automation, and computer science from Tsinghua University and UC Berkeley works to recruit faculty members globally. Facing the major strategic demands in China and considering the industrial characteristics of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Data Science and Information Technology discipline is focused on analyzing the application and impacts of big data, artificial intelligence and information technology in society, industries and economies as well as making use of cutting-edge information technology and an advanced industrial foundation to solve the major problems in information science and technology that affect the basic needs of society and industrial development. In this way, Data Science and Information Technology discipline can play a leading and supporting role in the transformation and upgrading of China’s data and information industry. It is also about nurturing all kinds of talents in information technology with solid theoretical knowledge and comprehensive interdisciplinary skills.

Qualifications
1. A doctoral or equivalent degree in a relevant academic area is required.
2. At least two-year working experience at a university or research institute is normally required.
3. Research experience across various fields and institutions and strong teaching performance are preferred.
4. Applicants for the tenure-track positions should have excellent academic research experience and development potential, as well as fluent English teaching and communication skills; Applicants for tenured Associate professors and professors should also have the corresponding world-class academic qualifications, vision and leadership.
5. A strong commitment to teaching and supervising postgraduate students is essential. Teaching responsibilities will include participation in and development of graduate courses and strong engagement with the core curriculum of Tsinghua SIGS. Supervision of PhD and MSc students and academic mentoring of trainees at all levels is also expected.

Benefits
Tsinghua SIGS will provide a research start-up package, basic supportive funding, and a relocation reimbursement for qualified faculty. Also, Tsinghua SIGS will finance up to 2 Ph.D. students and provide a competitive salary package for post-doctoral researchers for faculty members.
