Charles Bennett, Consul General ofthe United States of America Consulate General in Guangzhou, led a delegationvisiting Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute (TBSI) on Jan. 21. TBSI AssociateCo-Director Professor Lin Zhang, Co-Director of Precision Medicine& Healthcare Research Center Gerard Marriott and Administrative Director Annie Song held a meeting with the delegation.
Professor Zhang warmly welcomedthe delegation, giving an overview on the institute’s talent cultivation planand research achievements. He also mentioned that TBSI would have recruitmentroad shows of students as well as teachers at US.
Mr. Bennett said that USConsulate General would promote the connection between TBSI andcompanies. He pointed out that education imbalance still existed between Chinaand the US, reflected as the number of US teachers and students coming to Chinawere lower than Chinese teachers and students going to the US. Mr. Bennett saidthat he believed TBSI was attractive to US students and the US ConsulateGeneral in Guangzhou would help to promote the institute in the US. (By Claire Huang)
