Academic Advisory Committee of Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute Held the First Meeting

On April 15th, Academic Advisory Committee of Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute Held the First Meeting via video conference both in Beijing and Berkeley. YANG Bin, Vice President of Tsinghua University and Shankar Sastry, Dean of College of Engineering, UC Berkeley co-hosted the meeting. 

During the meeting, the Committee approved the foundation of three interdisciplinary research centers in Environment and New Energy, Information Technology and Data Science, Precision Medicine and Healthcare. The laboratories construction plans, the first list of core PI and the interdisciplinary doctoral education plan were also approved during the meeting.

Academic Advisory Committee of Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute was established on February 12th, 2015, with approval and authorization from the Oversight Committee of the Institute. The Academic Advisory Committee consisting of 12 members from Tsinghua and UC Berkeley will serve as a decision-making body for teaching and research activities.
